The Burnside Burners

Gut zu wissen

The Burnside Burners perform as a six piece blues band. Formed after the closure of The Edinburgh Blues Academy in 2023 ( a community music initiative run by the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival designed to help musicians of all ages and abilities develop their blues playing and group performance skills.) Although there are 8 full time members of the band they are more a collective, switching members for different numbers. This gives the band a unique depth and breadth of sounds and styles rooted in the blues. Performing a selection of music from the huge legacy left by the blues greats such as Robert Johnson, BB King, Ray Charles, Freddy King, Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters to name a few, up to more modern artists such as Peter Green, Eric Clapton, The Allman Brothers, ZZ Top and more. The band name was inspired by R L Burnside an influential Mississippi musician. Playing gigs around central Scotland, the band regularly plays Bannermans, The Voodoo Rooms, Stramash, The Howlin Wolf bar and The Firestation Creative to appreciative crowds. Reviews The Moshville Times “Throughout their set, I found myself bouncing along while taking photos – these guys can play! If you get the chance to see them live, you’ll leave with a huge smile on your face, guaranteed.”
